Nigel grew up living near the woods

As a kid he built forts, bridges, tree houses, and stick huts. He and his family lived on farms and there were always things to build, rebuild and mend!

Building with wood has been a large part of his life and catylist of his character.

He started as a General Contractor in 1984 and has been in the construction industry ever since. He had a cabinet shop for many years and enjoyed building cabinetry, built-ins, and furniture.

Since purchasing property in the forest of Beavercreek, Oregon, his interests have shifted from dimensional lumber to the beauty of natural wood, known as Live Edge wood.

He walks his land and imagines artful pieces to fashion out of dead or fallen trees. He scours clear-cuts before burning, or gathers wood from arborists who cut down dead trees.

Designers across Oregon have used his skills to manifest their visions to life. From small spatulas and bookends to large communal tables and bars, there is a piece for everyone.

He has a passion for repurposing wood and bringing what was once dead back to life through his woodworking artistry.
